1. What this platform is

This platform is a marketplace connecting independent farmers/hosts ("Farmers") with travellers ("Tourists") for agri-tourism experiences in and around participating villages. The platform facilitates discovery, booking, and payment collection — it does not itself provide farm experiences, transport, food, or accommodation. Farmers are independently responsible for the experiences they offer.

2. Commission structure

Every completed booking is split three ways: a platform commission, a commission for the local ගොවි සමිති (farmer cooperative) supporting that farmer (where applicable), and the remainder to the farmer. Current commission rates are set by the platform and may change over time; the rate in effect at the time a trip is completed is the rate applied to that booking.

3. Payments

Payment is currently collected by manual bank transfer to the platform's account. After booking, tourists receive bank details and are asked to submit a note about their transfer for matching. Payment is verified by an admin before the booking is confirmed with the farmer. Card payments may be added in future — this section will be updated when that happens.

4. Cancellations & refunds

Tourists may cancel a booking themselves, provided the trip date is at least the platform's configured notice period away (shown at the time of cancellation). If payment has already been collected, the platform commission is retained as a cancellation fee, and the remaining amount — including what would otherwise have gone to the farmer and the cooperative — is refunded to the tourist, since the experience was not delivered. Refunds are processed manually and may take several business days.

Farmers may also cancel a confirmed booking if they are unable to host (e.g. illness, unforeseen circumstances); the same refund policy applies in that case.

Cancellations made after the notice period, or no-shows on the day of the trip, are handled case-by-case through the ගොවි සමිති and platform support and are not automatically refunded.

5. Farmer responsibilities

Farmers agree to accurately describe their listings and packages, honor confirmed bookings, maintain the safety and cleanliness standards expected of a hosted farm experience, and keep their bank details up to date so payouts can be sent correctly. Farmer accounts are subject to review and approval before listings can go live, and may be suspended for repeated cancellations, safety concerns, or misrepresentation.

6. Tourist responsibilities

Tourists agree to provide accurate booking details, arrive as scheduled, and follow the farmer's reasonable safety instructions during the visit. Farm environments carry inherent risks (uneven terrain, animals, tools, weather); tourists participate at their own risk and should follow the farmer's guidance at all times.

7. Role of the ගොවි සමිති (cooperative)

Participating cooperatives help recruit and vet farmers, provide local dispute mediation, and receive a share of the platform commission in exchange for this ongoing role. The cooperative is not itself a party to the booking contract between farmer and tourist.

8. Data & privacy

Farmer bank details are visible only to platform administrators and are used solely for processing payouts. Contact information collected at registration is used for account verification, booking coordination, and platform communications.

9. Disputes & liability

Disputes between farmers and tourists should first be raised with platform support, who may involve the relevant ගොවි සමිති for local mediation. The platform's role is limited to facilitating bookings and payments; it is not liable for the conduct of farmers or tourists, or for events during a farm visit, beyond what applicable law requires.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
